Advisory for Contemporary Artists
What artist support do we offer?
Supporting artists to build sustainable, professional practices is central to our work.
Following the development of In the Garden, we are now able to engage with a wider range of artists through exhibitions, studio visits and curatorial dialogue. Alongside this, we continue to offer individual support for artists who would benefit from focused advice on their practice, presentation and professional direction.
One-to-One Curatorial Advice
We offer bespoke one-to-one curatorial coaching, available in person or digitally to artists of all mediums.
Sessions are designed around the particular needs of each artist and may include:
• Developing and articulating your artistic practice
• Preparing for exhibitions, open calls and studio visits
• Reviewing portfolios, websites and artist statements
• Advising on presentation, pricing and professional materials
• Considering gallery relationships and wider career direction
• Identifying practical next steps for an independent practice
This is a tailored professional service for artists seeking direct, considered feedback and curatorial guidance.

Artist Guides and Templates
Not every artist needs, or is in a position to invest in, bespoke one-to-one support. For practical resources that can be used independently, we recommend The Insider Syndicate.
Since launching in Harvey Horswell in 2024, growing demand for professional artist support has shown a consistent need for accessible, clear guidance. Across more than one hundred studio visits, we have encountered recurring questions around administration, presentation, photography, pricing, communication and the day-to-day structures required to sustain a serious practice.
The Insider Syndicate brings together art-world professionals working across the sector to create practical guides and templates for independent artists. These resources are intended to help artists establish professional systems and communicate their work with confidence.
The platform includes materials such as:
• Invoice and administrative templates
• Guidance on artwork photography
• Portfolio and presentation resources
• Professional communication tools
• Practical guides for operating independently
These resources do not replace bespoke curatorial advice. They offer a useful foundation for artists who want reliable tools, clear information and a more professional framework for their working practice.
In the Garden
To apply to include a work in this ongoing exhibition, please email us with your CV and suggested work. We do not charge for inclusion but we do charge commission and we ask that the work is held exclusively whilst it is on offer to our clients. You can withdraw the work at any time should you wish to offer it directly yourself or if it is accepted in any group shows.
