Helena Traill

British, Contemporary

Helena Traill is an emerging impressionist landscape painter of both urban and country scapes reflected in the vibrant colours of her emotions as she navigates our planet. Her first solo show in February 2025 sold out and she has since exhibited at the RSA and Treasure House Art Fair. She is currently working on projects for 2026, including collaborative projects with other artists, brands and spaces. Work has started produce a body of work on a much larger scale, which we should start to be able to view in 2026. All of her commission spaces were filled from January to August which is almost unheard of in such a new artist.

ORIGINAL WORKS

The original pieces are created in spaces which resonate with memory and relate emotions to us in the depth of tone and each brushstroke. In the work we can feel the journey to finding joy and vibrancy in the world again and the ability to bring this into our home is a gift.

If you would like to see the selection of original works currently available do get in touch.

URBAN LANDSCAPES

Traill is a landscape artist but her landscapes can also be as urban as they come. She is currently working on a series of original paintings from three of our most vibrant cities - London, Paris and New York. All of which she visited in 2025 and completed paintings on the streets, which are rooted in the emotions of noise and colour.

On return to the studio, a second series of paintings are created - designed dreamscapes of the city Traill experienced. Combinations of views along a main thoroughfare or river, become one view or glimpses from a speeding taxi window, build to gleaming towers of humanity. An artist’s compilation view of the city from memories of the place and the feelings it evoked becomes a view we can never visit but instantly recognise as New York, Paris or London.

COMMISSIONS

After high demand in 2025 and exciting projects on the horizon in 2026 requiring more time in the studio, there are limited paintings left this year. We would strongly recommend getting in touch now to avoid disappointment.

WATCH

A biographical film showing Helena and her process painting ‘en plein air’, which simply means painting in location in the environment. A skill which is done less and less today but for impressionists always adds a freshness and vibrancy. Helena talks about how her emotions influence the colours and brush stroke of each of works.

Treasure House Fair, Chelsea, London, Artist in Residence. This was an incredibly daunting project for any artist, completed under a great amount of pressure but Helena’s work held true to her style and remained respectful of the sculptor’s works. The project showcased Traill’s ability to connect with different people and work with brands under pressure.
