Stand 210
This monumental marble bust represents Jupiter (Greek: Zeus), king of the gods, and follows the celebratedantique prototype discovered at Otricoli in the late 18th century, now in the Vatican.
Carved with deeply drilled locks, a pronounced brow, and a voluminous beard, it embodies the neoclassical revival of Greco-Roman ideals of divine authority and masculine grandeur.
